Update since transfers....
Thursday-
First day in Pocatello! I got to say some last few goodbyes before heading to the transfer site. Me and 8 other missionaries piled in and bused off to Pocatello. We arrived in Pokey, crammed everything into our car, and headed off to our new apartment. Usually I guess when you whitewash the set before will try to leave notes about all the important info you need to be aware of...we had a page talking about like 5 people and that was all. We also had like no food, but it's okay we went grocery shopping pretty quick. We had a lesson the last sisters had set up for us that night though so we headed out to meet a guy named Gabriel. He's like one of the 3 Gabriel's the sisters were meeting with before so it'll be fun telling them apart hahax)
We had a good discussion with him though and mostly got to know him and established that he believes in God and the power of prayer. It was an interesting discussion, but he seems pretty open.
Friday-
District meeting! We had district meeting with our (mostly) new district. It's awesome, we're actually a "sistrict" because the Sister out number the Elders lol. (it's still technically a District but oh well) Anyways, one of the AP's said we have one of the most bubbly districts and I think it's true. It was a pretty good time haha, the other missionaries who stayed in the area know more about the people we teach than we do, but soon we'll get there lol. The rest of the day was split between getting groceries, weekly planning, and unpacking somewhat. We also had dinner in a far part of our area...McCammon. It's like 30 miles to get out there but it's fine. We still cover it.
Saturday-
We had a few lessons and meetings today. Honestly we're like scrambling to get to know everyone so we're trying to meet with all the ward mission leaders. Anyways, so we met with a recent convert the sister s were working with and had the ward mission leader join us. He taught most of the lesson and we talked all about obedience and commandments. It was really good! Our ward mission leader actually had a cool experience, earlier in the week during his personal study he found himself studying about obedience and commandments, and then we asked him to help us teach about exactly that! The Lord was definitely helping us this week,we've found ourselves prepared for situations we weren't aware would arise. It's been pretty cool. We also met with the most golden investigator I have ever met on my mission thus far. He is set for May 12th (two days before my birthday!!) and just totally gets the gospel. It was super cool to meet him and he got to go to conference and witness the solemn assembly! And met my soon to be Mission President! (In July) Pretty cool(:
Sunday-
What a day. It was Fast Sunday, but luckily I didn't feel too hungry and was able to last. We also had two ward councils and a missionary meeting. We met a ton of people and I think my brain went a little numb. After church and all we had another missionary meeting for the stake and then ran to dinner. We also went to ward prayer where a ton more new people showed up and confused us further. Then we finally got to our studies and prepped for a lesson we have this evening.
I'm safe, I've got food, and I'm not totally insane yet. So it's all good, but my mind is fried from transfer events so that's about all I can write out right now. (The subject line is all to accurate) I love you all, I hope you all have a wonderful week!!
Love,
Sister Jensen
