So my week!
Lets see, we got to teach Nathaniel again this week, he was a little bit more distracted when we taught him because he left his homework at school and was trying to figure out through a friend how to get it homex) It was a good lesson though, he's doing really well and seems to be taking in what we're teaching him well(:
We finally got to meet again with a recent convert family we were teaching!! That was straight craziness. We confirmed our appointment with them earlier in the day and they said it'll still work for them to meet. Holy heck though, they should've said come another nightx) A friend was over so most of the kids were distracted, then these people came to deliver some beds and mattresses they had bought...oh my heck it was chaos. We mostly taught their oldest, Jayton. He's such a good kid and stayed through the whole lesson. At one point I read a poem, (this was when the beds started coming in) and idk how much he really heard, but at the end he was like "that was a really good poem, i really liked it!" and idk if he was just being polite or if he really listened through it, but i appreciated itx)
On Thursday Sister Stott and I got frustrated with our newfound devices. We discovered that we will no longer be getting paper planners and have to plan everything out...in our phones. Neither of us are fans of this, but we'll adjust. Also on the subject of devices, Our mission is about to be on Facebook! We'll get more info in the coming weeks, but as of right now, we've been told to go through our Facebook accounts and make sure they are missionary appropriate! You'll see me on soon!
On Friday this week Sister Stott and I got a call from one of the Grover bishopric...and were asked to give talks because those assigned were sick or out of townx) So that was great. On Saturday we got another important phone call....TRANSFER CALLS!
Plot twist, Sister Jensen will continue to serve on Star Valley and by the end of this next transfer, will have spent six and a half months here!!! Craziness, but i'm okay with itx)
Saturday evening we met with Amanda, our investigator on date for baptism(: She's doing really well! We talked about the first half of the restoration and mostly focused on explaining priesthood and prophets to her. She's on date for March 31st, and so far things are looking good so we'll see what happens!(:
After we got home that evening Sister Stott and I sat down and wrote our talks. I felt alright about mine, but not fantastic...but i felt like i needed to walk away from it and look at it in the morning. In the morning we basically alternated from ward council to sacrament meeting and in between all that I completely rewrote my talk. I felt much better about it and both Sister Stott and I were able to give our talks, fill the time needed, and feel good about them afterwards. The spirit will speak to you if you're listening and that's something I've definitely learned while being out(:
I love you all, I hope you all had fantastic weeks!
Love,
Sister Jensen

"The Water is wiiiiide...so lets be baptized!!!!"
SO!
Last Pday Sister Stott and I went snow-shoeing with a member which was super fun!! Sister Thompson took us out with her dog Ava and we hiked up a canyon that's right in her backyard. We took tons of pictures, they'll go into my Feb folder(:
That night we got to meet with a few families, and taught the first lesson to a less active family we've begun teaching. They were super prepared for us to come so that was really cool! Most of the time people forget or have to gather everyone up and some kids decide not to come listen, but they were all there, ready and waiting! The parents said they aren't really interested, but their sons are so we're teaching them more about the gospel. Both were baptized and attend seminary, but they don't know a ton about the church. It will be fun though! We got to see them a second time this week and they had even made lemonade for us to try! (it was bomb lemonade btw) They're a fun family(:
That night Sister Stott and I exchanged with our STL's, Sister Whitmer and Sister Taylor. I went into their area with Sister Whitmer and Sister Taylor joined Sister Stott. Fun fact- the STL's live in a doll infested house. I took pics, for your enjoyment. We had a great time on exchanges and got to meet a few people they've had a hard time catching.
We exchanged back before dinner and Sister Stott and I got to teach the YM a mini mission prep! It was pretty fun, we basically did a big Q&A about missions and the MTC and how to prepare and just funny questions the boys have always wondered. One boy in particular asked if missionaries sleep in missionary attire. I said no, then jokingly said that the elders have to sleep in their suits, but just the elders- and the poor kid took me seriously. It was a fun time though, for the most part the boys had really good questions and I think we helped them get excited to start preparing for missions. The YM leader also had fixed ribs and potatoes for them and sent us home with a rack and a half of ribs so that was nicex) I think he forgot that sisters have slightly smaller appetites than elders.
Next, Valentines Day! This was pretty sweet, the members who fed us on Valentines day, (I know they were still willing to share their valentines day with us!!) gave Sister Stott and I each a rose(: It was super sweet, the couple has two girls and they handed us both rose and the husband was like "each girl deserves to get a flower on valentines day" SO SWEET!!! They're a wonderful family and we had a good night(:
Drum-roll please for Thursday, AMANDA HAS A BAPTISMAL DATE!! :D We were really struggling with her actually, we couldn't seem to get a hold of her or catch her home and were honestly wondering if she was still interested. On Thursday we decided to stop by and first, she said it was kinda weird we were there because her boyfriend had told her the day before that she needed to meet with us "like tomorrow" and she hadn't remembered to call us. We didn't have a plan really, we went in kinda shocked to have caught her home. We then talked with her for about an hour about random church subjects and eventually she was saying something about Georgia having no Mormons, (where she's from anyways) and she goes "They're gonna have one now!" And we were like "wait...so are you saying you have a desire to be baptized????" She said yes and we set a date and I"M SO HAPPY FOR HER!!! If all goes well she'll be baptized March 31st!! :D
We're on a roll i guess because then the next evening, Sister Stott and I taught our new investigator, Nathaniel. He's 12 and he was so prepared for us! We had left him with a restoration pamphlet and when we came back he had filled out all the questions in the back, read all the scriptures, and only left one blank because it referred him to a pamphlet we hadn't left with him. Holy cow this kid is amazing! We taught part of the plan of salvation and asked about baptism. He wants to be baptized too!! We weren't able to set a date because he's in foster care right now so we may run into some legal issues, but this is amazing!! We have 2 people who want to be baptized!!! This is crazy!!
This week has been amazing, and definitely exciting(: I have a testimony of this gospel and of the way it can change lives. I'm looking forward to the coming week and hope i'll be able to find more people that the lord has prepared for us(:

The Man...The Myth...The Legend...DAVID BURTON!!!
HELLO ALL!!
SO! To start, last Monday Sister Stott and I got haircuts from a lady who goes by "Big Mama" and she was a character lol. She would say phrases like, "Ah Honey, that's not how we do things," and "I'm a cosmetologist not a butcher." She was pretty funny. I got my bangs cut and she actually cut the too long so later that week I trimmed them. Anyways so you'll see some pics of that(:
On P-day we also played chair soccer...holy cow the Elders like to boot it. And they don't seem to care if you're in the way. Lol, it was still a good time, and I actually surprised myself and got a few sniper shots in. I actually got a lot of people out at one point, so it was a little tragic when I was finally out because then they all got back in. Fun time tho!
On Tuesday we had a great tine doing a Family Home Evening with a struggling single mom and her kids(: Her kids are all super friendly and high energy, but they actually stayed pretty calm for us! It was awesome, we had a lesson about the Anti-Nephi-Lehis and talked about keeping our commandments. We got some paper and each cut out a paper sword, then wrote something that would keep us from keeping the commandments of God. Then we "buried" our swords like the Anti-Nephi-Lehis. We had to get creative with the burying part because the ground outside is all frozen, so instead we "buried" them in the scraps of paper we cut up... I'm glad the kids we all young enough that they went along with itx) It was a good lesson though and they all seemed to understand what we were trying to teach(:
On Wednesday....We got smartphones!!! Crazy! Haha, we actually had interviews that day and were supposed to set up phones while having interviews, but then we kinda got hung up doing our phones... Sister Hancock was trying to transfer our contacts...but then she actually deleted them...So that was unfortunate. But our new phones are awesome and have already been helpful, so it's a blessing(:
And then, on Thursday we finally met...after two months of attempted contacting...the man...the myth...the legend....DAVID BURTON!!!!! I have no idea where lessons with this guy will go, but Sister Thomas and I tried time and time again to contact this guy, and then Sister Stott and I have tried the whole month she was here... SO I'm just happy we finally made contact!! He was super chill and friendly, even though we were blocking his garage and he had to get out into the mud. He said we could come back so we'll see where it goes!!(:
On Saturday we had to take our car in to get it serviced and oh my heck, the car guys were great to us! Our car is ridiculously muddy (mainly from David Burton's driveway) and the mats inside were even worse. Well they took our mats out and washed them for us!! They're already muddy again...but we appreciated it!!!
That night was sup[er eventful thoughx) We had dinner with a member's family and HAAAAAAH. They're 14 yr old was definitely way to excited to see Sister Stott and ix) Oh goodness, he was crushin and it was hilarious. After dinner though we spent time in their neighborhood and GOT A NEW INVESTIGATOR!!! His name is Nathaniel and he is the best 12 year old boy I've met! He's super chill and willing to let us teach him and he just absorbed it all!! I've got some high hopes for this boy, he's gonna do great!
That about sums up my week! Oh, and the jehovah witness experience from last week. i guess i can throw that in too...
So we had gotten stranded out in a small 3 house sorta kinda what you would call a neighborhood. Our car was almost out of miles so we got a ride to a lesson, but then the person we were seeing was actually sick. So we started walkin and making our way back somewhere as we tried to think of a destination. A super sweet member drove by and picked us up, asking where we needed to go. We really had no good plan yet so I just told her the bigger neighborhood area and frantically tried to come up with a name. Well Paula's house was the first house I saw so I directed her to take us there.
Paula is a lady I had actually never met before, but just been told about. I was told she has issues with the Book of Mormon, but will still let missionaries in to discuss religion so I thought we'd try her. Mistake. We saw a car and were like "hey cool i think she's home!" so we knock and she was and let us in. We walked in and saw these two ladies sitting at a table with their bible's out and we were like "oh are you having a bible study? cool!" they said yes and after a little pause she goes "Well this ought to be interesting, we have two mormons, two jehovah witnesses, and me!" I know, it sounds like a joke. But it wasn't.
Paula invited us into her living room and we hoped they'd just continue their bible study with us, but the jehovah witnesses seemed more intent on proving us wrong. So they asked what message we're out sharing and i gave them the whole restoration in a few minutes. One of them was honestly super intent on picking us apart and started jumping around the bible to prove us wrong. We'd answer and share our thoughts on a scripture and she'd see she couldn't confuse us and switch to another scripture. It was a little sad, because she definitely forgot about Paula, who she should have been focused on. Heavenly Father was with us though and didn't let us become confused or caught in any snares. We said we had to go after a bit and shared a scripture and then left. Fun time tho haha.
Anyways, i love you all! Have a great week and Happy Valentines day!!!
